Abstract:

This project is aimed at preparation of nano filters using recycled foam of food containersenriched by magnetic nanoparticles, for nitrate removal from water. The characterization ofthis electrospun magnetic nanofiber depicted a high capacity for nitrate adsorption. TheScanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray powder Diffraction (XRD), Energy DispersiveSpectrometry (EDAX) and Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) had been applied for thissurvey. In addition, magnetic behavior of nanoparticles was evaluated by magnetizationmeasurements. The functionality of designing filter against affecting parameters along withthe relation of these parameters with each other on the removal efficiency of nitrate wasevaluated. It is concluded from the results that the height of the nano filter and the amount ofmagnetic nanoparticles has the most significant effect on the nitrate removal from wateramong all other factors. Therefore, optimization techniques can assist to achieve highestefficiency.

Removal of Fe2+ from Aqueous Solution Using Manganese Oxide Coated Zeolite and Iron Oxide Coated Zeolite

The adsorption of Fe2+ by the manganese oxide coated zeolite (MOCZ) and iron oxide coated zeolite (FOCZ) was studied. Surface properties of adsorbents have been investigated for monitoring their changes and morphology for both of the MOCZ and FOCZ. Main variables namely; contact time, pH, initial concentration of Fe2+, size and dosage of adsorbent have been optimized, and the results contrasted...

Polysulfone/Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Ultrafltration Membrane for Adsorptive Removal of Phosphate from Aqueous Solution

Excessive nutrient contents in water bodies renders eutrophication and causes undesired structural changes to the environment. One of the most straightforward strategies to address eutrophication issue is through the removal of nutrients such as phosphate ions from the water sources. A combination of membrane fltration and adsorption process is an attractive alternative...

Nitrate Removal from Aqueous Solution by Using Modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite

Background & Aims of the Study:  Nitrate is one of the most important pollutants that its reduced form, nitrite, can cause serious problems for human health and environment. Adsorption with cheap sorbents such as Zeolite is the best way for removal of this pollutant. So this study aimed to apply modified Clinoptilolite Zeolite for nitrate removal. Materials & Methods...

Removal of Malachite Green from Aqueous Solution by Zeolite- Iron Oxide Magnetic Nanocomposite

Discharge of dye effluents into the natural streams may be toxic to the aquatic lives as well as human being. In the present studies, zeolite was synthesized from coal fly ash by alkaline hydrothermal treatment and mixed with magnetite nanoparticles in suspension to produce zeolite-iron oxide magnetic nanocomposite. It was used as adsorbent for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous so...
